condemnation Statement of murdering Raed Al Faris and Hamoud Junaid

On November 23, 2018, the Syrians and the world woke up to the brutal killing of civilian activists and journalists “Raed Al Faris” and “Hamoud Junaid” in the town of Kafr-Nabl after being hunted by extremist groups,
The both killed were pioneers of civil society, who brought the free voice to the world through the famous banners of Kafr-Nabl.

With this heinous crime, the freedom of expression has been strongly challenged by the enemies of the restoration of the life and development in the north of Syria, which reveals the danger to this region and its people.

The Syrian Journalists' Association and Ethical charter are extremely concerned about the continuous violations against journalists and media activists who pay expensively for their activities and their belief in the life right of the Syrian people.

The dangers and risk facing civil society in general and those working in the media sector in particular, with the aim of tightening the control by de facto authorities, require the international community, especially the influential countries in the Syrian file, to take an urgent initiative to protect the Syrian people to stop targeting civilians and media workers.

The Syrian Journalists' Association and Ethical Charter condemn this crime in the strongest possible terms, and demand that media workers in conflict zones to take all precautionary measures to protect their lives and personal security in during their work.
